1920's Hollywood Glamour

St Aidens Uniting Church

The Melbourne Hotel

Claire and Mark had a fabulous 1920s Old Hollywood Glamour theme. The Melbourne Hotel with its antique furnishings and boutique ambience lent itself well to the tone of the wedding. The look was feathers, beads and candelabras in black, white and pink. The bride looked every bit the screen siren in a fish tail dress and fascinator.

The ceremony was held at Saint Aiden's Church and it was there that guests got a taste of the enchanting evening ahead. Church pews were tied with white satin sashes and finished with two large ostrich plumes one in black and one in white.  Large arrangements at the alter were filled with pink Sorbonne Oriental lilies, champagne orchids, pink lissianthiums and roses with greenery and black and white feathers spraying out the sides.

At the reception black chair covers were tied with a white satin sash and finished with a pink satin bow. On the tables were vintage black swirl runners and linen napkins tied with sashes to match the chairs and fastened with diamante buckles. Centrepieces alternated, on half the tables were tall cone vases filled with pink Sorbonne lilies, champagne orchids and black and white feathers with tea lights twinkling at the base. On the other tables were our French black 'Chic' candelabras with crystal drops and itty bitty flower posies.

Stunning white satin ceiling drapes caught the eye with a black jewel encrusted chandelier hanging from the centre. Finishing touches made the room, with sashes, flowers and feathers tied around the balustrading. Mixed pink staggered height lanterns glowed with candlelight and were placed on the bridal table as well as on ledges around the room.
