Mercedes College Chapel

The University Club of Western Australia

Photographer: B & B Photography

Carina wanted the fairy tale wedding. She, her fiancée and her mum all wanted to create the "wow" factor when her guests entered the room, a wedding that guests would remember and talk about afterwards..... and that they certainly have!

For the ceremony, Mercedes Chapel was decadently adorned with large, fresh floral arrangements, in urns and at the end of each pew and cascading from floor standing candle holders.  The steps leading up to the entrance of the church were swagged with soft white tuelle fabric.   Neutral tones of mocha and creams were used in the Banquet Hall of the University Club, a perfect canvas to create an extravagant effect with flowers, candelabras and mirrors. Carina and Aaron chose to use both round and rectangular guest tables to create a unique feel within the room, each table laid with a mocha organza overlay, each guest napkin tied with a latte satin ribbon and a fresh pink flower.

The rectangular tables surrounded the central dance floor and were decorated with a long mirror trough full to the brim with mocha, white and cream roses placed on a rectangular mirror running down the centre of each table. This centre piece was complemented with very tall silver candelabras either side. The outer round tables drew their own attention with spectacular tall martini vases filled with a voluminous bouquet of white, cream, champagne and mocha flowers including roses, lissianthiums, lilies and orchids and greenery for extra height. The martinis sat on large one metre round mirrors and silver and white vintage tea lights were scattered at the base of the vase.

The bridal table was a stunning sight.  The bridal party of 14 was elevated on a stage and the long table that looked out over the dance floor, family and friends had a reflective mirror front along the whole length. On top alternated the mirror troughs full of white, cream and mocha roses and clusters of tea lights. The mirror and flowers popped against the simple white backdrop with spotlights. Limestone urns sat on pedestals either side of the bridal table full of fresh white flowers and large tropical leaves.
